LED System Technician
Manages setup and operation of modular LED panel arrays — video processor mapping, color calibration, and cabinet uniformity from signal input through final output.
The LED System Technician manages the setup and operation of modular LED panel arrays. Panel type — fine-pitch indoor, semi-outdoor, or high-brightness outdoor — determines installation requirements, cooling considerations, and viewing distance thresholds. The video processor receives the output signal, maps it to the physical cabinet layout, and handles color calibration and uniformity across the entire wall.
Common video processors: Brompton Technology Tessera (SX40 processing engine, RX strip receivers), Novastar MX series, and Megapixel VR Helios. Signal distribution over long runs is typically handled via fiber conversion. During show, the op monitors frame sync, signal integrity, brightness levels, and individual cabinet status.
