V2 / Operator
Fills a defined seat within the video village under the direction of the EIC or V1 — owning their position completely from setup through strike.
The Video Operator fills a defined seat within the video village under the direction of the EIC or V1. This may include a graphics station, a playback machine, a record position, a multiview feed, or a confidence monitoring post. On larger shows, multiple video operators handle specialized tasks simultaneously so the EIC and V1 can stay focused on program output and signal flow.
Video operators are expected to own their seat completely — set up, calibrate, and monitor their system through the full run of show — and communicate any issues to the EIC promptly.
